Basic Care & Feeding Fans should not be stored at high temperatures and never left for any length of time in a hot car. It is perfectly safe to wear your fan outside in the sun, but fans containing dyed feathers should not be stored for long periods in sunlight, it will fade the dyes. Natural feathers can attract those same pesky moths that attack your wool clothing and flour. Store with mothballs or other mothproofing such as lavender oil. Fans that are displayed should be dusted weekly by blowing thoroughly with a blow-dryer. More complete instructions here. Contact
