| I started out desinging for individuals and the entertainment industry, but grew frustrated with the movie and television industry. I much prefered the freedom and community of Renaissance and Victorian
themed shows and theater. I get my greatest satisfaction from designing individual pieces, without the constrictions of someone else's artistic vision. These events
demand thousands of hours and thousands of dollars to create
elaborate but temporary booths, staff costumes and atmospheres. I
considered that effort part of my art, although I received no
monetary reward for the costly investment. The satisfaction
of being part of the magic and the appreciation for my work
were adequate reward for the large investments and restrictions
placed on all craftspeople by these shows. But things change,
and the people connected with many of those events have lost
their integrity of late. The magic is fading and
the once lofty goals have been replaced by ego and greed. There
is absolutely nothing wrong with being in business to make money,
but if that is the only goal, then it is foolish to squander
so much time, energy and money on building “villages”
and donating money and supplies to the show producers rather
than putting those resources into my artwork. When the costs
of doing business outweigh the returns, and your effort and generosity is no longer appreciated.....it is
time to move on.
So, at this point, I have retired from the show circuit and large contracts, although I am still doing some custom work for individuals.
Period accessories are still available by request. You may write, call or email with requests.
I am proud to have been the first designer of
fans, hatpins and other accessories on the faire circuit, and
I am sure there will be many more “firsts” to come.
Look for them here. |

Information |

| Most
of my merchandise is one-of-a-kind, individually hand made and
available for a limited time. During the last few years, the
business got so big and sales demanded so much time that I stopped
enjoying the creative process. I have decided limit products
to smaller lines and custom orders. Some items, such as Bawdy
Dusters and items in the “Currently Available” sections
may be ordered and shipped within two weeks. Items that must
be constructed upon order or are being made-to-order will take
longer. Choose from currently available items, design your own
or allow me to design something for you! There is never any
extra charge for custom orders.
I accept orders by phone, mail or email. Orders can be placed
and payment may be mailed in the form of a check or Money Ordre. Sorry, I have cancelled my credit card services as of 2008. I do not ship C.O.D.
