Theatrical Costume, Accessory and Prop Design since 1985.
Whimsey Wear was formed in 1985when I began to specialize in the English Renaissance period and moved toward a retail business that began in 1987. My work has been featured in movies, theater, and a variety of entertainment and advertising mediums as well as personal collections and themed events.
One of few American Mask artists for many years, I was a favored attraction at the Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire and The Great Dickens Christmas Faire as well as many other faires and reenactment and exotic/erotic events. I specialized in masks, period accessories, exotic one-of-a-kind clothing and am proud to have been the first creator or fans, hatpins and dusters in renfaire community. Sadly the local renaissance and reenacment circuit has lost much of the magic that it once held for me and I officially retired in 2007.
Although I have moved on to new ventures, I still take the occaisional custom order and am considering resuming some of my items after we move to another part of the country.
While I was not diligent about photographing my work, you can still see some examples here. A variety of available items and crafting supplies can be found on the "For Sale" pages at great prices! of my merchandise is one-of-a-kind, individually hand made and
available for a limited time. During the last few years, the
business got so big and sales demanded so much time that I stopped
enjoying the creative process. I have decided limit products
to smaller lines and custom orders. Some items, such as Bawdy
Dusters and items in the “Currently Available” sections
may be ordered and shipped within two weeks. Items that must
be constructed upon order or are being made-to-order will take
longer. Choose from currently available items, design your own
or allow me to design something for you! There is never any
extra charge for custom orders.
I accept orders by phone, mail or email. Orders can be placed
and payment may be mailed in the form of a check or Money Ordre. Sorry, I have cancelled my credit card services as of 2008. I do not ship C.O.D.
